"The flower that blooms in adversity
is the most rare and beautiful of all."
~from the Disney movie, Mulan~
Today is wildflower {wednesday}...
with a twist.
You see, not only is it wildflower {wednesday},
which is now one of my very favorite things, by the way.
But, it is also an anniversary of sorts.
An anniversary.
For me.
For Sophie.
For her daddy.
And her brothers and sister.
Tomorrow
May 13th
marks two years
since we saw our sweet girl's face for the very first time.
That day is one I will never forget.
The call.
My hands shook.
And my heart literally pounded all day long.
The day dawned an ordinary Tuesday.
But ended in a way that changed our lives forever.
Our hearts have never been the same.
Without a doubt,
she has made our lives
...more beautiful.

Through Sophie's adoption,
we have been blessed by meeting others
who are traveling the same road.
Others
who have quickly become friends.
And who, this week, are also remembering
the sweet day
they first saw their daughter's face.
Carrie is one such friend.
And she is graciously hosting my wildflower {wednesday} this week.
As a way for us to celebrate
our daughters
Sophie and Sadie
And how our lives are
...more beautiful
because of them.

ReplyDeleteI visited Carrie! Fun blog! Our Gotcha Day was on May 6, 2008 in Kunming, China--just days before yours!! My hubby took the hint and gave me the beautiful LWB necklace for Mother's Day! My family makes my life sweeter! Each and every one of them brings me something special every day! And Jesus' love for me is even sweeter!

And I wasn't sure if I was supposed to leave my "what makes my life more beautiful" comment here too.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes my life more beautiful? Being moved by God's Spirit to help others in their adoption journeys with the talents God has given me to share. What a blessed opportunity and gift from above!
Music makes my life more beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! I think your whole site is OH so beautiful! What a neat story you have. I would someday adopt if the Lord moves my husband's heart. What a sweet girl you have! :)

Great blog! I must admit I am drooling over all of the cute dresses and headbands....I don't get a lot of that over in my neck of the woods! More like dirt, bugs, things that smell funny and sweaty boy kisses. Come to think of it, that is what makes my life more beautiful. The gifts that Lord has entrusted to our care, how humbly amazing that is to me. What a blessing indeed!
